Tomorrow I have an 8 hour drive ahead of me. Tunes for the road/favorite thing to do while making long drives alone?

What kind of music do you like? If you like the same kind as me, I've got a small spotify playlist you could download for the trip

8 hours of driving and music gets dull fast. My choice is a book on tape, or download some good pod casts that cover area's of interest. time flies when you can engage your mind, but music is great don't get me wrong I'm hugely into music but after an hour or two my mind needs more stimulation esp behind the wheel.

Listen to music (all kinds) and smoke cigars (Punch London Club Maduro). Podcasts of Car Talk really pass the time.

1.) The Who's Tommy, greatest rock opera concept album ever!
2.) Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
3.) The Jimi Hendrix Exp.'s Are You Experienced?
4.) The entire Beatles catalog.

hahaha, I don't think that would be very safe, but then again. I have had netflix running on my laptop in the seat next to me playing some stand up comedy before. Also a great long haul listening idea.

Replace the Beatles with Led Zeppelin, and your good.

I love both bands equally, it was a toss up.

Zeppelin has better driving beats

This might help. It's a mass list of car related songs of various genres.
Also, the entirety of the Los Santos Rock Radio playlist from GTA V might work. It includes a list of the songs that didn't make the cut, which was found in the game's files.
Lastly, as others have suggested, a few podcasts might help as well.

When the Levee Breaks...and The Ocean off of Houses of the Holy.

Need some The Doors. Light my Fire and L.A. woman alone will cover 15 minutes.

8 hours. I think there is plenty of room for both.

Immigrant Song, Trampled Under Foot, Good Times Bad Times, Kashmir... I could go on.

Car talk! Thought provoking and doesn't become monotonous. Always makes the Sunday evening drives go by much faster.
Also if at night, play the guess headlight/taillight game

I kinda sucks trying to list a bunch of songs to go with driving. I am glad I have Spotify for that, except for a few bands that are not on there catalog

Do you like disco?
Doesn't matter, Everybody loves disco!
And how about disco meets 90's club beats?
I dare you to keep it under 80 with the first and last song ;)
also, for that late evening reminiscing part of the drive:
Enjoy, and have a safe drive! All the best :D

I noticed a song's missing from the list...
if the name doesn't give it away, it's about the Datsun 510

I've been listening to The Gaslight Anthem lately and like them. They have a kind of Springsteenish sound to them. Best songs I've found so far from them:
-45
-Here Comes my Man
-Handwritten
-Mullholand Drive
Other than that my music varies... the Killers to lil Wayne, Neil Diamond to Breaking Benjamin, etc. For long drives I tune into talk radio, either NPR or politics (last resort...). Of memorable note, Wait Wait Dont Tell Me , Car Talk (duh), Under The hood (a local repair show) are great podcasts. There's a few others too but...eh.
